Reader-Request

Reader Kim asked me to post the following photos. They were made during a Solemn Pontifical High Mass in honor of St. Peter Canisius and celebrated by His Excellency Antonio R. Tobias, Bishop of Novaliches in Seven Joys of Mary Chapel of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate on April 27, 2010 at 10:30 am.

The cappa magna seems to be unusually shiny. As I understand, this is kind of an Asian thing, as people there like their silk this way.

    Indeed! They look like curtains or blinds. Nonetheless, we must appreciate the fact that tradition is returnomg to the Catholic Church. So much destruction has occured! May all things restored in Christ.

    Not all Traditions are equal and worthy of restoration. Just because something has an "Old" look, doesn't make it attractive.

    There is a tendency in the Philippines to overdo lace, in the (few) places where it is used.
