This picture is like a "who's who". It clearly taken in New York (you can see the cardinal's residence in thebackground as well as the old NY Chancery across the street (now the Palace Hotel). Mundelein is flanked on his left by then Monsignor McIntyre (later the cardinal archbishop of LA) and behind him is the happy warrior, Gov. Al Smith in the uniform of a Knight of St. Gregory the Great.
