Some photos from Spain...

... mostly with unidentified prelates and events.

I recognize Cardinal Segura in this photo

These last two photos...

... are form a Palm-Sunday procession

Random obscure photo week (VIII)

To wrap up the "Random obscure Photo"-week, here is a photo from a place that looks very much like Lourdes. However, I have no idea who the prelate is.

Random obscure photo week (VII)

All I know is that this photo is from Canada. But I am not really sure, who the prelate is. Could it be Cardinal Villeneuve? There is a certain similarity, but I am just not sure. Help?!

Random obscure photo week (VI)

Here are two photos for my European readers.

I recognize Thomas Louis Heylen, second from left, bishop of Namurs, Belgium from 1899 to 1941 (!). I have no idea who the other prelates are, not even the one in the middle, who seems to be the main character in these pictures.

Does anybody have any idea?

Random obscure photo week (V)

Does anybody have an idea who this cardinal is? I thought by know I'd be able to identify pretty much all cardinals from the 20th century but this one just looks completely unfamiliar. Help!

Random obscure photo week (IV)

That's a difficult one. If I remember correctly, I found it on a web page from South-America (Or was it Portugal? Or Spain? ...) but without any caption.

[Update: A Portugese reader sent in this information:
Thanks, Louis]

Random obscure photo week (III)

Here are two bishops I've been carrying around on my laotop for quite some time now without being able to find out who they are:

I have a gut feeling that maybe both but at lest the second one is from the USA.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the next installment of "random obscure photo week"

My best guess here would be England, but that is really just an intuition, justified only be the canon's mozzettas.

Class...? Anybody...? Class...? Bueller...?

Random obscure photo week (I)

Hi everybody!

As the headline suggests, for the next seven days I will post images that I have little or no information about, hoping that my usually well informed readers might contribute.

Let's start with this stern and austere looking monsignor (with two decorative clerics in the back). I don't even know the country of origin, so I am really drawing a blank here. Nice shot, though.
