Another photo of Cardinal Villeneuve

Here you can see that His Eminence is actually wearing two sashes

Thanks again to sender-inner Charles who also explains that the bishop on the left might be Archbishop Alexandre Vachon of Ottawa who had once been Rector of Laval University in Québec City.

Thanks Charles!

Two sashes? I don't see two sashes? Or they do not look like regular sashes? Why aren't they as long as the regular ones? And why would black be part of the whole thing - isn't he a Cardinal?

I think that it is **very** probably that the eminent prelate is not wearing a clerical sash at all. Instead, what he has on might be some kind of civil insignia or something of the kind...

Unfortunately, Charles is not correct in this instance, about the archbishop being Alexandre Vachon, as he will see if he were to google Vachon's name to bring up photos of him. I'm not sure who it is either, but I think it might be Sydney, Australia's then-archbishop Norman Gilroy(created cardinal in 1946). The problem is that neither the occasion nor the location is recognizable to me so I can't be certain. Anyone else know?
