... the unofficial "Spanish-Netherlands"-days, here are some more pictures from my "Spain" collection.

Gregorio Maria Cardinal Aguirre y Garcia, archbishop of Toledo from 1909 to 1913, primate of Spain.

Cardinal Aguirre again.

Francisco Javier Baztán y Urniza, bishop of Oviedo from 1904 to 1920.

Adolfo Pérez y Muñoz, bishop of the Islas Canarias from 1909 to 1913.

Juan Manuel Sanz y Saravia, bishop of Jaén from 1909 to 1919.
And - last but by no means least - His Inevitableness, Fernando Cardinal Quiroga Palacios:

As bishop of Mondoñedo (1945 - 1949)...

... as archbishop of Santiago de Compostela, (1949 - 1971)...

... and as Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church (since 1953). This man is just too good. Every photo I have seen of him so far is great.

That bottom photograph is just superb! What a picture. One can taste the ancien regime upheld. Fascinating stuff. Thnx for this. Would that we might still see a prelate this conscious of his dignity!
