Random obscure photo week (IV)

That's a difficult one. If I remember correctly, I found it on a web page from South-America (Or was it Portugal? Or Spain? ...) but without any caption.

[Update: A Portugese reader sent in this information:
Thanks, Louis]

Lisbon's patriarch?

I'm almost sure that he is one of the Patriarchs of Lisbon, since he is wearing the two barred cross (a privilege of the Lisbon patriarchate)...

He looks like Dom José Sebastião Neto, OFM, Patriarch of Lisbon from 1883 to 1907.

Okay, why not!

Ladies and Genltemen: Dom José Sebastião Neto, OFM, Patriarch of Lisbon from 1883 to 1907!

Thanks guys! I never would have recognized him (although the pectoral cross did give me something to think about. Apparently not enough...).

Hello to every one.

I want to beg pologise, but for sure it is not D. José Sebastião Neto, Patriarch of Lisbon.

The one that appear's it was the great D.Manuel Mendes da Conceição Santos, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Évora in Portugal, from 1920 untill 1955 year of his death. He have open beatification process.

Related to Pectoral Cross is the Cross of any Archbishop whit two
"parallel bars".

In the matter of the using Pectoral Cross of Archbishop by the Patriarch of Lisbon,(in this case of Lisbon) it isn't for being Patriarch but in first place Lisbon is Archdiocese before be came Patriarchal.

Greetings from Portugal

Great minds think alike. Yup, it's Lisbon. The double bar on the Cross gives it away

The same picture appears on a blog about saints of the archdiocese of Evora: http://santosdaarquidiocesedeevora.blogspot.com/2008/06/numa-aldeia-pequenina-quase-perdida-no.html

In that page there is also other pictures of D. Manuel Mendes da Conceição Santos in most cases wearing the double bar cross.
